Useful to know when you are looking for commercial space for rent in Sofia

Sofia is not only the capital but also the largest city of Bulgaria with a population of some 1.24 million residents. It is located at the foot of the Vitosha mountain in the Sofia Valley surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery, making it the third highest European capital.

The big diversity of the city is seen in the description of the city as the “triangle of religious tolerance”, referring to the fact that three temples of three major world religions, Islam, Christianity, and Judaism, are located within the same square. The triangle has even recently been expanded to a square, including the Catholic Cathedral of St. Joseph.

Sofia has been named one of the top ten places for start-up businesses in the world, especially in information technologies. The city is also among some of the most affordable European capitals to visit and being both the capital and the largest city of Bulgaria, Sofia is home to many of the major local universities, cultural institutions and commercial companies, making it the ideal city for studying.

Due to the surrounding mountains, the city is known for its many mineral and thermal springs, such as the Sofia Central Mineral Baths, which was built in the early 20th century and used as the city’s public baths up until 1986.

Sofia’s architecture combines a wide range of different architectural styles, including Christian Roman architecture and medieval Bulgarian fortresses to Neoclassicism and prefabricated Socialist-era apartment blocks. After the abolition of communism in Bulgaria in 1989, Sofia also witnessed the construction of whole business districts, modern skyscrapers, and top-class residential neighbourhoods.
